Mrs. Hollie Joy Hutchins, age 74, of Dallas City, Illinois, passed away at 2:20 A.M., Thursday, August 24, 2017, at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center in LaHarpe, Illinois.

The daughter of Orval and Lois Paulas Erdman, Hollie was born on September 12, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. On January 24, 1976, she married Frank O. Hutchins in Joliet, Illinois.

Hollie grew up in New Lenox, Illinois, and graduated from Lincoln Way High School in 1961. She worked at the Union National Bank in Joliet in the 1970's. She later worked for the Dallas City Elementary School for 29 years as the librarian and as an aide for the Title 1 program. She served as Cub Scout Leader and was a volunteer at the nursing home in Roseville, Illinois. Hollie was a member of the Burnside, Illinois, Christian Church where she enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School.

Surviving are her husband, Frank, one son, Joseph (Melissa) Hutchins of Springfield, Illinois, and their two daughters, Elyse and Kiersten Hutchins. She is also survived by one brother, Orval Erdman of Braceville, Illinois, and one sister, Jane Sparks of Killeen, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Joseph Georgis, and one half-sister, Marilyn.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 28, 2017, at the Burnside Christian Church with Pastor Mark Nichols officiating. Burial will be in the Harris Cemetery, Dallas City, Illinois. The family will meet with friends on Sunday from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Burnside Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Burnside Christian Church. Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Dallas City is assisting with arrangements.
