Obituary

Mrs. Pauline L. Hobby, 83, of Lomax, IL passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas.

She was born February 11, 1931 in Carman, Il, the daughter of Manford Lloyd and Ruth Pauline Johnson Gittings. On August 1, 1951 she married Willam L. Hobby in Burlington, IA. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1997.

Pauline worked in the housekeeping department at the former Burlington Medical Center for 23 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the LaHarpe American Legion Auxiliary and the Lomax Christian Church. She spent the last 20 winters in Texas. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Gary Hobby of rural Lomax, one daughter, Peggy Nixon of rural Keithsburg, Il, five granddaughters, 13 great-grandchildren and one sister Juanita Stein Ballinger of Nauvoo, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Lomax Christian Church with Rev. Karen Fraser Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Terre Haute, Illinois Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. Fridat at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe. A memorial fund has been established the Lomax Christian Church.
