Herbert Leonard Isaacson, 93, of Stronghurst, IL, formerly of Raritan, IL, passed away at 1:12 AM Monday, September 25, 2017 at Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab Center in Stronghurst.

Born October 20, 1923 in Raritan, He was the son of Albert and Josephine Williamson Isaacson.

Herbert was a lifelong farmer east of Raritan, Illinois. He attended Piper Grade School and graduated from Media High School. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, watching sports, the Chicago Cubs, playing cards, and spending time with family. He was a member of the Stronghurst Senior Center and the Bethel Lutheran Church of Stronghurst.

Survivors include one sister-in-law, Margie Isaacson of Peoria, Illinois and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Clarence, Milford, Harold, Earl and Lawrence Isaacson, and two sisters, Evelyn who died in infancy, and Lorene Johnson.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Stronghurst with Pastor Terry Muller officiating. Burial will follow in the Warren County Memorial Park in Monmouth. No visitation is planned. Pallbearers include: Galen Baxter, Bryan Arnold, Blake Runyan, Jacob Dance, Isabel Dance, Alexis Roessler, Annemarie Baxter and Joseph Baxter.
