Henrietta Lorraine Finch, 88, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 4:10 P.M. at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.

She was born July 4, 1922 in LaHarpe, the daughter of Lorraine and Anna Melvin Ruhl. On January 16, 1946 she married Bill Finch in LaHarpe. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1999.

Henrietta was a lifelong resident of LaHarpe and was a graduate of LaHarpe High School. She worked at the nursing home in LaHarpe for many years and was a member of the LaHarpe Union Church and the Come Join Us Class at the church. She enjoyed calligraphy, using her skills to hand-letter diplomas for the LaHarpe school district. She also enjoyed photography, traveling and attending her grandchildrens sporting events.

Surviving are 3 sons, Dennis Finch of Blandinsville, Illinois, Brad Finch of Phoenix, Arizona and Mark (Barb) Finch of LaHarpe, 4 grandsons, Jason (Carrie) Finch of LaHarpe, Alex Finch of LaHarpe, Scott (Amy) Finch of Huntley, Illinois and Todd Finch also of Huntley, 2 step-grandchildren, Kelli and Joe Adkisson of LaHarpe and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her sister and brother-in-law, Anetta and Harold Faul, 1 sister in infancy and her parents.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Bruce Goettsche officiating. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday. A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe Union Church or for a charity of the donors choice.
