Helen V. Vickers, age 82 of Media, Illinois died at 10:15 a.m. Sunday January 29, 2012 in the Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg. She was born July 6, 1929 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Guy and Mary Dilsaver Stickler. On January 15, 1950, she married James Vickers in Burlington. He preceded her in death on October 14, 1992.

Mrs. Vickers retired from the Conifer Company in Burlington. She had also worked for IRC Company in Burlington and Gale OMC Products in Galesburg, Illinois.

Survivors include one daughter- Karen (Bill) Stotler of Gladstone, IL., two sons- Edgar Vickers of Media, Michael (Tina) Vickers of Marion, IL., three grandchildren- Gerrod Nichols, Katie Valentin, and Tyler Jones, two great grandchildren- Kayley Vickers and Lance Jones, and one brother- Monte Stickler of Stronghurst. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother- Jim Stickler and two sisters-Wilma Davis and Kathleen Arellonn.

The funeral service for Helen Vickers will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday February 3, 2012 in the Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst with Rev. Richard Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, near Media. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
