Helen Lucille Goff Tapscott, age 86, of Stronghurst, Illinois, passed away at 12:40 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2025 at Oakwood Estates Assisted Living Center in Stronghurst.  She was born July 31, 1939 in Rio, Illinois, the daughter of Willard and Anna Lucille (Rohr) Goff.  On August 23, 1957, she married Edward Kenneth Tapscott in Monmouth, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on April 15, 1991.

Helen had been employed at Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth Pottery, and retired from the housekeeping department of Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab in Stronghurst.

Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Longcor of Burlington, IA, LuAnna (Rex) Mynatt of Carman, IL, three sons, Kenneth (Jane) Tapscott of Kirksville, MO, Mel Allen Tapscott of Jacksonville, AR, Del Ray Tapscott of Topeka, KS, a special daughter, Bobbi Tapscott of Biggsville, IL, one stepson, Ronnie Tapscott of Alpha, IL, twenty seven grandchildren, sixty four great grandchildren, and fifteen great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Allen Goff, Ermil "Popeye" Goff, Carroll Goff, Ruth Oaks, and Judy Goff, one step daughter, Connie Sue Tapscott, and two sons-in-law, Randy Longcor and Ronnie Johnson.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025 in Gerlaw Cemetery, Gerlaw, Illinois.  A Celebration Of Life will immediately follow at the Monmouth American Legion, 1110 N. 11th Street, Monmouth, Illinois.  Memorials have been established for the American Red Cross and the Stronghurst American Legion.  Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Stronghurst is assisting the family.  Please visit Helen's obituary at banksandbeals.com to leave a condolence
