Helen Faye Gillis

Helen Faye Gillis, 98, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 at 4:00 AM in the LaHarpe Davier Health Care Center.

Helen was born in Decorah, IL on May 23, 1914 the daughter of George and Charlotte Ank Kemp. On December 12, 1931 she married Eddie Fox, who passed away May 5, 1961. She later married Glen Gillis on May 25, 1972. He died April 5, 1977.

She attended the Stronghurst High School. She worked for Ivan Jacobs in Stronghurst, IL for 20 years. Helen moved to LaHarpe in 1978, where she was a member of the LaHarpe United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son Herb Fox of LaHarpe, 2 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Mildred Sutton of Lomax.Helen was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two sisters, Lucille McIntyre and Dorothy Brewer and two brothers Rawson and Robert Kemp.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Stronghurst, IL Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Banks and Beals Funeral Home, LaHarpe, IL. .
