Mrs. Hazel Maude Hunerdosse, 86, of LaHarpe, IL passed away at 6:24 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at her home.

She was born on November 26, 1928 in Little York, IL the daughter of James W. and Vera M. Jones Reed. On December 18, 1949 she married Arthur Leland Hunerdosse in Fairfield, IA.

Hazel was raised and educated in Little York. After graduating high school she attended Carthage College. She and her husband were house parents for 15 years at Rainbow Acres Ranch for the mentally handicapped in Camp Verde, AZ. Hazel spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a member of the LaHarpe Union Church and enjoyed sewing, arts, crafts and working with the Awana children.

Mrs. Hunerdosse is survived by her husband, Arthur, four sons, John (Carol) Hunerdosse of West Burlington, IA, Ken (Linda) Hunerdosse of LaHarpe, Donald Hunerdosse of Des Moines, IA and Daniel Hunerdosse of Santa Rosa, CA, two daughters, Sandra Rogers of Burlington, IA and Lynn (Rick Abernathery) Hunerdosse of West Burlington, IA, 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Hunter ODonnell.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the LaHarpe Union Church with Rev. Bruce Goettsche officiating. Burial will be held at later date in Chariton, IA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the LaHarpe Union Church. Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe is in charge of arrangements.
