Mr. Harry L. Mutter, 89, of Shelbina, MO, formerly of Fort Madison, IA and Dallas City, IL passed away at 7:40 AM Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at the Hannibal Regional Hospital, Hannibal, MO.

He was born April 16, 1927 in Dallas City. He was raised in Dallas City by his grandparents, Willard and Dora Mae Mutter. On May 29, 1948 he married Nell Byers in Dallas City. She preceded him in death on June 6, 2014.

Mr Mutter graduated from Dallas City High School in 1945 and served in the US Navy from May 1945 to July 1946. He worked for the Du Pont Company in Fort Madison for 37 years. He and his wife spent many winters in the south. They enjoyed camping and golfing. Harry was an avid Illini fan.

He is survived by 1 daughter, Tara (Tuley) Elliott of Monroe City, MO, 1 son, James (Deborah) Mutter of Quincy, IL, 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and 1 son William Mutter.

Graveside services with Military Rites will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Harris Cemetery with Rev. Jim Luder officiating. A memorial fund has been established for the Blessing Hospice..
