Mrs. Gwendolyn Bernice Drish, 94, of Dallas City, IL, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017 at her home.
She was born February 8, 1923 in Fort Madison, IA the daughter of Edward and Nina Robinson Cantril. On December 24, 1964 she married Gary Ralph Drish in Benton Harbor, MI, he survives.
Gwendolyn was a graduate of the Fort Madison High School. Following high school she was employed by Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids and Montgomery Ward in Cedar Rapids and Burlington. Gwendolyn built miniature doll houses, she loved playing the organ and piano and was known as a great cook.
Survivors include, her husband, Gary, three children, Judy (Kirk) Erickson of Burlington, IA, Jill Butler of Cedar Rapids, Don (Kathy) Butler of Burlington, one step-daughter, Michelle (Chuck) Windscott of Des Moines, IA, ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Lois Howell of the Quad Cities and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Bill Butler and one sister, Jeanette Hess.
The Memorial Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dallas City with Fr. Tony Trosley and Fr. Mike Phillips officiating. A rosary will be recited at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, followed by visitation with the family until 7:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for Food For The Poor.
