Mrs. Lorain Griffith, 83, of LaHarpe, Il passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 at the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, IL.

She was born July 12, 1930 in LaHarpe, the daughter of Elmer and Leta Albaugh Bennett. She married Evan Griffith. He died March 30, 2004.

Lorain graduated from Graham Hospital School of Nursing in Canton, IL in 1951. She then worked as a surgical nurse at the Graham Hospital until her retirement. She lived in Canton for many years, returning to LaHarpe following the death of her husband. She was a member of the LaHarpe Historical Society and enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and taking care of her lawn.

She is survived by one brother, Dean (Darlene) Bennett of LaHarpe, one sister, Mary Eileen Rouse of Galesburg, IL and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, Lowell, Lisle and Harold Bennett and one sister, Patsy Holmes.

No services are planned. Burial was in the LaHarpe Cemetery.
