Obituary

Gregory Lee Rea, 61, of Fort Madison, Iowa, passed away 5:22 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City.

Greg was born September 4, 1960 in Fort Madison the son of Donald and Rayma (Canfield) Rea.

Mr. Rea enjoyed hunting, trapping and especially enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. In later years, he took up a passion for painting and often gifted paintings to friends and family. He was a fan of Bob Ross. He will be remembered as a generous man who would help anyone in need.

Survivors include his mother: Rayma Rea of Dallas City, Illinois; four children: Vanessa Rea of Burlington, Iowa, Kiefer Lee (Marina) Rea, Kieth Shane Rea and Kyle Wayne Rea all of LaHarpe, Illinois; eight grandchildren: Hayden, Hannah, Skylie, Luka, Jack, Kylynn, Atlas and Forrest; one brother: Doug (Mary Claire) Rea of Fort Madison and one sister: Theresa (Kirby) Marsden of Niota, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by one son: Jamey Scott Rea; his father: Donald; paternal grandparents: Dee and Helen Rea and maternal grandparents: Ray and Eva Canfield.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, with Pastor Scott Grueding officiating. No visitation is planned.
