Gregory D. McDowell, 55, of LaHarpe, IL passed away at 6:45PM Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Great River Hospice House in Burlington, IA.

Greg was born on August 8, 1957 in Quincy, IL the son of Charles William and Marjorie Lucille Martin McDowell.

Greg was a 1975 graduate of LaHarpe High School. He worked as a supervisor at Shipley Construction in Burlington. He enjoyed working, riding and training horses. He also enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

He is survived by his mother, Marjorie McDowell of LaHarpe, IL, 1 son, Craig McDowell of Kahoka, MO, 1 sister Carolyn (Roger) Trout of LaHarpe, IL, 1 brother, Duane (Pat) McDowell of LaHarpe, IL, and 8 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and 2 brothers, Ronald and Jerry McDowell.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30AM Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the LaHarpe Cemetery with Rev. Jim Clayton officiating. Friends may call after 3:00PM Wednesday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00PM.
