Mrs. Barbara J. Gilpin, 71, of rural Niota, Illinois passed away at 4:42 P.M. on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

She was born on July 2, 1942 in Ft. Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Helen Brown Nicholson. Barbara married Nolan Gilpin on June 10, 1983.

Mrs. Gilpin was a graduate of the Mt. Sterling Illinois High School. She worked over 20 years at the former Riverview Supper Club in Dallas City, Illinois and later worked at the Nauvoo- Colusa schools in the cafeteria.

She is survived by her husband, one son Destry Robertson of St. Paul, Iowa, two grandchildren, two brothers, Frank (Linda) Nicholson of Niota, Illinois, and Gary (Connie) Nicholson of Eustis, Florida. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Harris Cemetery near Dallas City with Dave Poland officiating.
