Gerald "Jerry" Gross
Mr. Gerald "Jerry" Gross, 69, of Lomax, IL passed way at 5:58PM Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at his home.
Jerry was born in Tekoa, Washington on March 31, 1943 the son of Joseph and Matilda Homitton Gross. On September 26, 1964 he married Colleen Holt at Knotts Berry Farm in Anaheim, CA. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2012.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1961 until 1964. Jerry then worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years, retiring from the LaFarge Company in Colorado. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and gold mining. He was very active with the Toys For Tots and the Hamilton-Walters Marine Corps League.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sherry Thomatos of Gladstone, IL and Brenda (Terry) Bielser of Stronghurst, IL, 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Gross was preceded in death by his wife, parents and 2 sisters.
A celebration of life will be held at the Lomax Senior Center, Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2:00PM. A memorial fund has been established for the Henderson County Health Department Hospice or the Toys For Tots. Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe is assisting with arrangements.Gerald "Jerry" Gross' Guestbook
