Gary Robert Newberry, 63, of West Burlington, IA, died March 23, 2020 at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the Harris Cemetery near Dallas City, IL. Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City in assisting with arrangements.

Born July 16, 1956, in Lake Charles, LA, he was the son of Jim Newberry and Rhoda Marsden Molter. On March 12, 1991, he married Pamela Gerber in Las Vegas, NV.

He graduated from Dallas City High School. He then attended Southeastern Community College and graduated from Missouri Southern State University.

Gary worked as a roofer for many years and worked for Frank Millard & Co. as a roofing estimator for 15 years.

He enjoyed sprint cars racing, camping in Knoxville and gambling on sports and racing. He had many friends and never met a stranger. Most of all, Gary enjoyed spending time with his pets and grandchildren.

Survivors include his mother, Rhoda (Mike) Molter of Dallas City, IL; father, Jim (Sandy) Newberry of West Burlington; wife, Pamela Newberry of West Burlington; one son, John (Tami) Gerber of Burlington; one daughter, Heather (Scott) Becker of Danville; six grandchildren, Libbie, Rian, Ellie, Kayla, Cole and Gavin; three brothers, Byron Newberry of Burlington, John Molter of Moline, IL and Justin Newberry of Danville; and one mother-in-law, Mary Butler of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
