Gary Jon Edwards

Gary Jon Edwards, age 66 of Carman, Illinois died at 5:51 p.m. Thursday August 20, 2009 in the University Of Iowa Hospitals And Clinics in Iowa City. He was born July 27, 1943 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Margaret Lawlor Edwards. On January 21, 1999, he married Karen Clause in Oquawka, Illnois

Mr. Edwards served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He had been employed as a conductor for the Burlington Northern/Sante Fe Railroad for 26 years.

Survivors include his wife, daughter - Margaret Baxter of Phoenix, AZ., and daughter- Diane, one stepdaughter - Cassie Mallory of Carman, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister - Barbara Johnson and one brother - David Edwards.

There will be no services or visitation. Cremation rites are being accorded. Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Stronghurst, IL is assisting the family.
