Obituary

G. Donald Kreps, 94, passed away peacefully at 5:00 AM Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center, LaHarpe, IL.

Donald was born on September 8, 1923 in rural Blandinsville, IL to George Leslie and Lois Irene White Kreps. He graduated from Blandinsville High School in 1941. Mr. Kreps served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Lois Idel Link in 1943. She preceded him in death on September 26, 2000.

Donald was involved in the community in various ways. He served on the Blandinsville-Hire Fire Department, PABOB, and had served as City Clerk. He had worked at Thermogas and as a Veteran's Assistance Coordinator.

Donald is survived by his children: Delbert (Rhonda) Kreps of LaHarpe, Keith (Wendy) Kreps of Blandinsville, Karen Bratton of Burlington, IA, Steve (Peggy) Kreps of Champaign, IL, Gayle (Steve) Harn of Blandinsville, Rita (Greg) Siegworth of LaHarpe, Dean (Kathy) Kreps of Holland, MI, and Diana Mealey of Blandinsville, 14 grandchildren: Debra Kreps, Kim Larson, Christopher Kreps, Brian Kreps, Jake Kreps, Michele Stubbs, Teri Bratton, Stacey Carlson, Kammie Harn, Jason Siegworth, Jennifer Hobby, Kyle Kreps, Sam Kreps, and Blake Mealey, two step-grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and 4 siblings, Madelyn Hocker, Kenneth Kreps, Marilyn Kreps amd Howard Kreps.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four sisters: Evelyn Doney, Edith Pursell, Wilma Kelly, and Maxine Dark, two brothers: Robert and Floyd, one son-in-law Greg Bratton and one grandson, Alecs Kreps.

A funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Gordon Blankenship officiating. Burial, with military rites, will follow in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Friends may call any time after 3:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
