Frances Mae Wolford

Frances Mae Wolford, 98 of Morton, Illinois, formerly of the Olena community near Stronghurst, Illinois died at 5:57 A.M. Wednesday June 13, 2012 in the Morton Villa Care Center in Morton. She was born June 1, 1914 in Point Pleasant Township, Warren County, Illinois, the daughter of Walter Ellis and Ina Mae Houlton Flood. On December 21, 1944, she married William Newton Wolford in Gladstone, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1992.

Mrs. Wolford was a lifelong resident of the Olena community.

Survivors include two grandchildren- Roger Wolford of Groveland, Illinois, Alan Swink of Denver, Colorado, two great grandsons, and one sister- Eva Freeland of Monmouth, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons- William and Roger Lee Wolford, one daughter- Kathleen Swink, one granddaughter - Carol Lynn Swink, four sisters- Lena Shanks, Alice Boyd, Myra Nyman, Mary Covert and one brother in infancy.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. The funeral for Mrs. Wolford will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday June 19, 2012 at Banks & Beals with Rev. Kendall Hetrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Olena Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Henderson County 4-H.
