Frances Elizabeth "Polly" Hetrick

Frances E. Polly Hetrick, age 87 of the Shokokon community, near Carman, Illinois died at 7:59 a.m. Thursday October 21, 2010 in the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa. She was born June 1, 1923 in Carman, the daughter of Robert and Matilda Siens Stimpson. On June 6, 1950, she married Earman A. Hetrick in Burlington. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1999.

Polly was a lifelong resident of Shokokon. She was a member of the Lomax-Carman Senior Citizens. She was a member and former custodian of the Carman United Methodist Church. She loved gardening, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include three sons - Kendall (Jackie) Hetrick of Lomax, IL., William Hetrick of Carman, IL., Larry (Betty) Hetrick of Texas, one daughter - Emma Gean Snyder of Burlington, IA., ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter - Rosemary Christiansen, two sisters, three brothers, three great grandsons and one great great grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday October 25th in the Carman United Methodist Church with Rev. Anita Munden officiating. Burial will be in the Carman Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday.
