Mr. Forrest F. Derry, 93, of Colusa, Illinois passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at 7:25 AM at the Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Illinois.

He was born on May 3, 1918 near Vermont, Illinois, the son of Arda and Grace Ellis Derry. On June 15, 1947 he married Mardene Dorsett in Colusa.
Mr. Derry was a graduate of the Fountain Green, IL High School and was a Veteran of world War II. He served in the US Army from 1940 - 1945 in the South Pacific. He worked as a mechanic for Syfert Implement in Blandinsville and later for Hushaw Implement in Colusa. He also farmed for many years near Colusa and he and his wife owned and operated the grocery store in Colusa for 6 years. He was a member of the Hancock County Farm Bureau, Dallas City American Legion and the Colusa United Methodist Church where he served as Trustee for several years. He had been a member for over 50 years of the LaHarpe Masonic Lodge #195 and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a member of the Quincy Consistory.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Wayne L. (Peggy L.) Derry of Keokuk, Iowa, one daughter, Linda (Jeff) Wilson of Colusa, four grandchildren, Ryan (Beate) Wilson, Adele (Brian) Langworthy, Isaac Wilson and Paul Wilson and four great-grandchildren, Hunter and Sophie Wilson and Rachael and Drake Langworthy.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Suprayasi Wilson, one great-granddaughter, Angelica Wilson, two brothers and two sisters.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Colusa United Methodist Church, Colusa, Illinois with Pastor David Poland officiating. Burial, with Military Rites, will be in the Harris Cemetery near Dallas City, Illinois. Friends may call after 3:00 PM Monday at Banks & Beals Funeral in Dallas City where Masonic Rites will be held at 6:00 PM followed by visitation with the family until 8:00 PM, Monday. A memorial fund has been established for the Colusa United Methodist Church or the Scottish Rite Scholarship Fund.
