Floyd James Ballinger Sr.

Mr. Floyd James Ballinger Sr., 79, of Niota, IL passed away at 6:40PM Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Parkview Manor in Wellman, IA.

He was born September 23, 1933 in Pontoosuc, IL the son of Clay and Ruth Foresman Ballinger. On June 14, 1953 he married Betty Lou Hoskins in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She preceded him in death on March 19, 1997. On June 1, 1998 he married Rita Naumann in Nauvoo, IL.

Floyd is survived by his wife, 3 daughters, Carol Pence of Niota, IL, Peggy Barkley of Pontoosuc, IL and Ruth Higbee of Glendale, AZ, 1 son, Floyd James Ballinger Jr. of Black Canyon City, AZ, 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, parents and 1 brother, Dale Ballinger.

Mr. Ballinger graduated from Dallas City High School. He was a Korean War Veteran having served in the Air Force from 1953 until 1957. He retired from Western Trucks in Arizona where he worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed traveling and was a life long member of the Good Sam Club.

Services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home is Dallas City with Tony Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Harris Cemetery near Dallas City. A memorial fund has been established.
