Mrs. Florence J. Stewart, 86, of LaHarpe, IL died at 6:15AM Friday, October 19, 2018 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.

She was born April 29, 1932 in Colchester, IL, the daughter of Herbert and Mary Powell Wayland. On March 13, 1951 she married Donald L. Stewart in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1996.

Florence worked at Hoffmeisters Meat Market in LaHarpe, the Basket Factory in Burlington, Ia and most recently worked at Haeger Pottery in Macomb, IL, retiring in 1987.

She is survived by six children, Shirley (Dick) Anders of Terre Haute, IL, Randy (Debbie) Stewart of LaHarpe, IL, Donna (Dave) Mershon of LaHarpe, Betty (Ivan) Nichols of LaHarpe, Mary Lou Stewart of LaHarpe and Donnie Stewart also of LaHarpe, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are Vernon Lee Bundy of Washington, IL who was raised by Florence, three sisters, Mary Ellen Oakman, Sandra Eddington and Pauline Silva all of Colchester.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Terry Stewart, brother, Gayland, sister, Patsy Jung and two brothers and one sister in infancy.

Graveside services will be held at 11:15 AM Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the LaHarpe Cemetery with Rev. Lee Unger officiating. The family will meet with friends from 9:00 until 11:00Am Tuesday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe. A memorial fund has been established for the Hospice Compassus or the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.
