Mr. F. Leon Browning, 66, of LaHarpe, IL passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 4:10 PM at the LaHarpe Davier Health Care Center.

He was born October 20, 1945 in LaHarpe the son of Luther and Okle Campbell Browning. On Feb. 16, 1968 he married Lois Thomas in LaHarpe. They later divorced.

Leon attended LaHarpe High School. He was Durham Township Road Commissioner from 1977 until 2009 when retired due to failing health.

He is survived by his sister, Libby Olson of LaHarpe, 4 nieces, Brenda Burt, Rebecca Quivey, Tita Duvall, all of Laharpe and Melissa Melton of Windsor, MO and two nephews, Scott Boone of St. Louis, MO and Wesley Olson of Mt. Vernon, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, one in infancy and Carol Boone.

Following cremation a memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Grace Bible Church in Dallas City, IL. Burial will be at a later date in LaHarpe Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established. Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe is assisting with arrangements.
