F. Helen Anders, age 98 of Stronghurst, Illinois died at 10:35 A.M. Monday April 23, 2007 in the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa. She was born September 12, 1908 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Herman Henry and Augusta Nickolas Karloske. On July 26, 1930, she married Roy John Anders at the home of her parents in Chicago. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2001.

Mrs. Anders was a homemaker who loved her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She enjoyed the outdoors and her flower garden. She and her husband were volunteers at the Burlington Medical Center for over 13 years. She was a member of the Stronghurst Presbyterian Church, the Elizabeth Giffen Circle, Maple Grove Extension Unit, and a charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary #7082.

Survivors include one son- Robert (and Marilyn) Anders of Zionsville, IN., two daughters- Doris (and James) Cook of Raritan, IL., Jean (and Ronald) Melvin of Aledo, IL., nine grandchildren, six step grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, one sister, one grandson, and one great grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday April 26 2007 in the Stronghurst Presbyterian Church with Pastor Pam Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Stronghurst Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Memorials have been established for the Stronghurst Presbyterian Church and Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab Center in Stronghurst.
