Ethel Anna Huss, 75, of Lomax, Illinois died at 9:00 a.m. Saturday October 13, 2012 at her home. She was born June 26, 1937 in Gulfport, Illinois, the daughter of Robert Ebert and Myrtle Eldora Terry Moyers. On November 3, 1956, she married her soul mate, Lyle Emerson Huss in Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2009.

Ethel had worked at Vista Bakery and Lamont Limited for several years. Her favorite pastime was making hand-made quilts, which she lovingly gave to her family and dear friends. She also enjoyed bingo and was known for her home made chicken and noodles. Family strength and love were her greatest assets. She will be truly missed.

Survivors include four daughters, Anna (Daren Adler) Gerst and Wanda (Leon) Wilson, both of Fort Madison, Iowa, Lyla (Tim Schaefer) Huss and Nancy Huss, both of Burlington, Iowa, nine grandchildren, Mickie Huss, Colin Gerst Jr., Daniel Reynolds, Christina Crane, Misty Crane, Mark Gerst, Megan Lamb, Lyle D. Huss, and Devin Wilson, seven great grandchildren- Kaydee, Dylan, Max, Andrea, Daulton, Mary, and Madison, two sisters- Mary Spiker and Kathy (Allen) Waterman, both of Burlington, three brothers- Bill (Darlene) Moyers of Tennessee, Glenn Moyers of Oquawka, Illinois, and Martin (Betty) Brockett of Joplin, Missouri, and her little dogs, Missy and Snoopy. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son- Lyle Huss Jr., four brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, Illinois. The funeral for Mrs. Huss will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday October 18, 2012 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the Oquawka Cemetery.
