Mrs. Esther R. Ferguson, 88, of LaHarpe, IL went to be with the Lord at 4:13 PM Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL

She was born on December 1, 1927 in Dixon, IL, the daughter of August and Anna Altpeter Suechting. On December 16, 1951 she married Raymond E. Ferguson in Basco, IL, he preceded her in death on April 1, 2009.

Esther was proud of her Christian Faith and her love for God was of utmost importance in her life. Early in life she attended the Carthage Lutheran College before marrying Raymond. She gave piano, voice and organ lessons for over 30 years at her home. Mrs. Ferguson enjoyed being a farm wife, where she would prepare meals for the men on the farm as well as perform the bookkeeping tasks. She was a member of the Durham GT Club for many years.
Survivors include four children, Larry (Jackie) Ferguson of Blandinsville, IL, Jerry (Julie) Ferguson, of Carthage, IL, Terry (Patti) Ferguson of LaHarpe, and Sherry Ferguson of LaHarpe, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, one son, Gary Ferguson, one brother, Erwin Suechting, and one sister, Irma Kitzky.

Friends may call at Banks & Beals Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 16, 2016. A private service will be held later. A memorial fund has been established for the James Roberson Ministries/Feed The Children and the Global Truth Ministries, Carthage.
