Esther I. Boyd, 91, of LaHarpe, IL, passed away at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.

She was born on December 26, 1926 in Blandinsville, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Bertha MaHarry Miller. She married Glen Boyd on January 5, 1947 in Macomb, IL.

Esther was a graduate of the Blandinsville High School and a member of the LaHarpe Union Church where she was an active member of the Come Join Us Class. She enjoyed mushrooming, crocheting, doing crafts, gardening, cooking and bird watching.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Glen, two daughters, Lana Boyd of LaHarpe, Jan (Max) Burg of Dallas City, one son, Mike (Janet) Boyd of Burnside, eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by eight sisters and two brothers.

The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Bruce Goettsche officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 Tuesday at Banks & Beals. Burial will be held in the LaHarpe Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for LaHarpe Senior Citizens or the LaHarpe Union Church.
