Emily D. Lair, of LaHarpe, formerly of Dallas City, Illinois passed away Friday, July 1, 2011 at 7:43 A.M. at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.

She was born on August 6, 1925 in Packwood, Iowa, the daughter of Vern T. and Lora E. Nelson Bradfield. On June 22, 1941 she married Dale Lair in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2011.

She and her husband lived in Dallas City most of their lives. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church and the Golden Age Club of Dallas city and for the past several years has enjoyed volunteering in various local civic orginizations.

She is survived by one son, Edward (Sharon) Lair of Atlanta, Missouri, 2 grandchildren, Scott and Gwen Lair of Atlanta, Mo, one sister, Ruth Brown of Stockport, Iowa, 3 brothers, Virgil Bradfield of Stockport, twin brothers, Donald Bradfield of Birmingham, Iowa and Delbert Bradfield of Tapillion, Nebraska and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, four sisters and her parents.

In honoring her wishes there will be no services. The body will be cremated and private interment will be held at a later date in Harris Cemetery near Dallas City. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Golden Age Senior Club or the American Cancer Society.
