Elizabeth Jane Lillard, 92, of Dallas City passed away at 4:47 PM Monday, January 5, 2016 at the Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, Iowa.

She was born on April 1, 1923 in Burlington, the daughter of Fred and Estella McVey Drebenstedt. On October 24, 1943 she married Delbert A. Lillard in Monticello, MO. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2003.

Elizabeth was a 1941 graduate of the Burlington High School. She worked for The Shaeffer Pen Co., Sylvania, and the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. She also assisted her husband in their logging and farming operation. They retired in 1982.

She was a member of The First Christian Church in Dallas City, and a member of the Christian Womens Fellowship, serving on the service committee, and the Golden Age Senior Citizens. For the past year she has been a resident at Sunnybrook assisted living in Fort Madison, Iowa. Mrs. Lillard was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outside puttering in her flower gardens and pond. Elizabeth was a gifted artist and loved painting for her family. Her talents were numerous and her homemade pies and rolls were always a treat for family and friends.

Surviors include one son, Jerry (Joyce) Lillard of Dallas City, two daughters, Sandra (James) McCain of Portland, Maine, and Becky (Randy) Wright of Mt. Pleasant, IA; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, twin brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter.

Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, with Rev. Jim Luder officiating. Burial will follow in Harris Cemetery. No formal visitation is planned, however, friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00 until 8:00 PM Friday. A memorial fund has been established for the First Christian Church of Dallas City.
