Elizabeth J. Hays 86 of Portland TN peacefully departed at 9:15 A.M. April 12th 2018 at home.

She was born July 14th, 1931 in Carman IL to Joseph George and Rachel Hazel Stine Howell. She married Robert Parker Lenix on April 26th, 1952. They had 2 children David and Mary Antoinette.

She graduated Stronghurst High school in 1949 and graduated from Burlington Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse September 28, 1952.

She had worked for Dr. Robert Todd, The Iowa Department of Corrections, Home Health supervisor and the Psychiatric department. She loved her family and many friends. Her hobbies included gardening, crafts and casino's.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and son David along with husbands Roger Gittings and John Hays, her parents, brother John and sisters Mary and Joan.

Surviving: daughter Mary Antoinette and son-in law Curtis Anthony Turner, step son John Hays, step daughters Peggy, Kathy and Becky, one sister Norma Kay Lloyd, several nieces and nephews including great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Carman Cemetery, Carman, IL. Banks & Beals Funeral Home is assisting the family .
