Elgin E. Johnson, 99, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 2:27 P.M. at the Wesley Village in Macomb, illinois.

She was born August 29, 1925 in LaHarpe, the daughter of Raymond and Mabel Allen George. On April 8, 1951 she married Victor Johnson in Blandinsville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1982.

Elgin was a Green Thumb worker at the LaHarpe Senior Center for 25 years. She also cleaned the LaHarpe Carnegie Library for many years. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the M and M Club in Blandinsville and the Friendship Club in LaHarpe.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Burford of LaHarpe, two grandchildren, Bryan (Michelle) Burford of LaHarpe and Brianne (Matt) Burr of LaHarpe and five great-grandchildren, Maddox and Jace Burr, Gavyn Burford and Evalynn and Ciri Cupani.

Elgin was preceded in death by her husband, Victor, one sister, Beverly George and her parents.

Friends may call at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe on Monday, October 14, 2024 beginning at 9:00 a.m. The family will meet with friends, Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. A Graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville with Rev.
