Edna F. Collins, 76, of LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2024 at the Roseville Rehabilitation & Health Care, Roseville, Illinois.

Edna was born in LaHarpe, Illinois on March 7, 1947 the daughter of Harold W. and Rosie B. (Torrence) Reed Sr. On August 5, 1970 she married Clyde E. Collins in Moline, Illinois. He preceded her in death October 21, 2021.

Edna was raised in the Colusa and LaHarpe, Illinois areas. She was a graduate of Nauvoo-Colusa High School. While in high school she worked as a waitress at the former Travelers Diner in LaHarpe and for a short time at a factory in Keokuk, Iowa after high school. Following her marriage, she moved to Davenport, Iowa and worked for the Davenport Candy Factory. Following Clyde's retirement, she returned to LaHarpe where she was employed as a cook for the LaHarpe School District for many years.

She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the former LaHarpe United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one step-son: Lance (Michelle) Collins of Hemansville, Michigan; 4 step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers: George Reed of LaHarpe, Harold Reed Jr. of Roseville, Illinois and Richard (Sharon) Reed of Terre Haute, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Raymond and Lyle Reed.

Cremation has been entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe. Burial will be held at later date in LaHarpe Cemetery.
