Earl Filmore Davis Jr., 73, of Fort Madison, Iowa, passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 at Trinity Medical Center in Rock Island, Illinois.

Earl was born September 28, 1952 in El Paso, Texas, the son of Earl and Guadalupe Marie (Piloto) Davis Sr. He was a 1972 graduate of Fort Madison High School. On June 21, 1986 he married Janice Duffie in Fort Madison. She survives.

Earl worked as a track man and machine operator for the Santa Fe Railroad and later Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, where he retired from. He was an avid collector of many things and a life long Green Bay Packers fan.

Besides his wife, survivors include one son: Earl (Samantha) Davis III of Dallas City, Illinois, five grandchildren: MaryJane Davis, Earl Davis IV, Ella Gittings, Arya Davis and Anton Davis; two great-grandchildren: Beatrice and Anna Wilke; one brother: Johnny (Karen) Davis of Salem, Iowa; and four sisters: Gerri (Mike Slocum) Davis of Fort Madison, Monica (Steve) Carter of Fort Madison, Donna (Carl) McEntee of Niota, Illinois and Carol Vessell of Fort Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Beatrice Deitsch.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City. A Celebration of Earl's Life, with food, will follow at 7:00 p.m. at LULAC in Fort Madison.

Cremation will be entrusted to Banks & Beals following the visitation.
