Earl E. Booton, age 92 of Stronghurst, Illinois, passed away at 1:12 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at OSF Holy Family Hospital in Monmouth, Illinois.

He was born March 12, 1925 near Olena, Illinois, the son of Marvin Glen and Flossie Vera Mapes Booton. On July 17, 1949, he married Wanda L. Hartman near Stronghurst. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2011.

Mr. Booton was employed at J.I. Case Company in Burlington for many years, retiring in 1987. He also farmed near Stronghurst for many years. He enjoyed collecting arrowheads, and was a member of the Illinois Archeological Society. He also enjoyed visiting, socializing and having coffee at the Henderson County Health Department in Gladstone. Earl was an avid supporter of his children's, grandchildren's and great grandchildren's sporting events. He was a member of the Stronghurst United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Martha Tomek of West Burlington, IA, one son, Wendell (Connie) Booton of Stronghurst, two grandchildren, Ryan (Jessica) Booton and Robin (Jeffrey) Laverty, three great grandchildren, Corinne and Colby Booton, and Kylee Laverty. Earl was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers, Boyd and Glen Booton, and one sister, Doris Sebastian.

Visitation will be 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday January 7, 2018 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Banks & Beals, with Pastor Lisa Unger and Rev. Kendell Hetrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Olena Cemetery.
