Eldon "Dewayne Poulter

Eldon Dewayne Poulter, 76, of Dallas City, IL passed away at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016 at his home.

He was born near Ursa, IL on August 20, 1939 the son of Virgil and Hazel Booher Poulter. He married Sandra K. Sutton in Lomax, IL, January 25, 1958, they later divorced. He married Rita Bowen August 14, 1999.

Dewayne owned and operated the following businesses in Lomax: Coin Wash, Car Wash, Septic, Welding and Backhoe services and worked 20 years at JI Case. He served on the Lomax Fire Dept. and City Council. Dewayne enjoyed fishing on the river, hunting and traveling.

Mr. Poulter is survived by his wife, two sons, Jeff (Kim) Poulter of Middletown, IA, Kerry Poulter of Terre Haute, IL. 3 step children, Sandy (John) Hutson, Bill (Lori) Spiekermeier, Carol (Harold) Ried all of Dallas City, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. 1 brother Richard Poulter of Ft. Madison, IA, 2 sisters, Shirley Lieurance of Burlington, IA, Bonnie Kershner of Bushnell, IL and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 8 brothers, Gerald, Donald, Hershel, Francis, Kenneth, Glenn, Russell, and Rodney Poulter and 4 sisters, Dorothy Hoener, Betty Emery, Janet Cox and Kay Thacker.

Memorials have been established for Lee County Hospice and River of Life Church.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Harris Cemetery with Rev. Doug Clark officiating. Banks and Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City is in charge of the arrangements.
Gathering of family and friends will be at the Dallas City Community Center following the graveside service.
