Robin Diane Dowell-Druffel

Robin D. Dowell-Druffel, age 47 of Saint Peters, Missouri, formerly of Stronghurst, Illinois, died at 11:00 a.m. Monday May 30, 2011 at her home. She was born April 16, 1964 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Sidney and Diane Grigsby Dowell. On May 12, 1995, she married Bill Druffel. They later divorced.

Robin was a graduate of Southern High School in Stronghurst and received her Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. She was a counselor for Planned Parenthood in Saint Peters for many years. She enjoyed writing poetry.

Survivors include twin sons- Matthew and Ryan Druffel of Saint Peters, her father- Sid Dowell of Stronghurst, one sister- Erin (Tony) Anderson of Stronghurst, one step sister - Kathy (Robert) Wrenn of Richmond, Virginia, one step brother - Richard (Diana) Melvin of Little Rock Arkansas, her grandmother- Lois Campbell of Stronghurst, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, her step mother- Judy Dowell, and three brothers.

The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Banks & Beals Funeral home in Stronghurst with Rev. Kendall Hetrick officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral. Interment of the ashes will be in the Stronghurst Cemetery at a later date. Memorials have been established for St Judes Childrens Hospital and Henderson County Hospice.
