Mrs. Doris Jean Duncan, 87, of Stronghurst, IL passed away at 6:12p.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 at Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab, Stronghurst. Doris was born on September 30, 1926 in Olena, IL the daughter of Charles and Ruth Jacobs Hicks. She married Robert Duncan on March 18, 1950. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1980. Mrs. Duncan was a Stronghurst High School graduate. She sold Avon products for over 30 years. She is survived by one son, Mike (Dianna) Duncan of Media, IL, one daughter, Sherry (Dennis) Warrington of Navarre, FL, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, one son, Mark Duncan, one sister, Ruby Poulson and two brothers, Harry and Tom Hicks. Graveside services will be held at 2:00p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the Stronghurst Cemetery with Pastor Karna Peterson officiating. No visitation is planned. A memorial fund has been established for Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab o r the M.S.T. Fire Department. Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst is in charge of arrangements.
