Doris Jean Coffey's Obituary
Doris Jean Coffey, 83, of Carman, Illinois, passed away at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa.
Doris was born on March 17, 1938 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Harvey and Ollie Mae (Harris) Hill. On January 18, 1958 she married Merle Coffey Sr. in Peoria. He preceded her in death on October 19, 2019.
Doris was a member of the Carman United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking, fishing and traveling, especially to Florida and Texas.
Survivors include three children: Merle (Susan) Coffey Jr. of Carman, Debra (Rick) Dowell of Ft. Madison and Cathy Coffey of Burlington; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and one brother: Gerald Dean Hill of Homosassa, Florida.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband and five siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the Carman United Methodist Church with Pastor Lisa Unger officiating.
