Dorcas R. Shryack, 94, formerly of Blandinsville, IL passed away at 7:10 PM Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center, LaHarpe, IL.

She was Born on October 5, 1920 in Blandinsville, the daughter of Robert P. And Laura A. Hollibaugh Green. On November 26, 1947 she married C. Vernett Shryack. He preceded her in death on August 25, 1986.

Dorcas was a graduate of the Blandinsville High School. Early in life she was a bookkeeper at the Blandinsville Elevator and also worked in the Blandinsville Library. In 1997 she became the site manager at the Blandinsville Senior Center, Retiring in 2008. She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Blandinsville. Dorcas also belonged to the Blandinsville Senior Center, and the former Blandinsville Rebekah Lodge.

She is survived by four nieces, Mary Ann Johnson of LaHarpe, Ruth Ann Thompson of Macomb, IL, Laurie Fullerton of Elmwood, IL and Barbara of Boise, ID, three nephews, Carl Shryack of Colorado, and Russell and Hardy Shryack, bothof Macomb, IL, and several great nieces and nephews.
Dorcas was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Marjorie Patch, brother, Ensil Green, and also an infant brother.

Dorcass body has been donated to the University of Iowa, Carver College of Medicine. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, July 3, 2015 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Gordon Blankenship officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date in the Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville. A memorial fund has been established for the Blandinsville First Christian Church and the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.
