Dora Jane Kelley, age 80, of Carthage, Illinois, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Thursday July 7, 2016 at the North Adams Home in Mendon, Illinois. She was born October 13, 1935 in Nauvoo, Illinois the daughter of William and Neva Brown Metternich. OnJuly 18, 1969, She married Steve Kelley. He preceded her in death in December of 1981.

Jane lived in Marion, Iowa for many years and moved to Stronghurst in 1984 where she was employed at Bygones & Buds Flower Shop. She later moved to Nauvoo, Illinois for a few years, before moving to Carthage. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with her nieces and nephews, and her cat Missy. She was a member of the Raritan Baptist Church, Raritan, Illinois.

Survivors include one brother, Jack Metternich of Quincy, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, June Geissler, Kathryn Rose, Ulah Ebert, and three brothers, Luther, Joseph and Dale Metternich.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Stronghurst is in charge of arrangements.
