Donald R. Annegers, age 87 of Stronghurst, Illinois died at 6:50 a.m. Saturday May 7, 2011 in the Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab Center in Stronghurst. He was born October 27, 1923 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Herbert Andrew and Edna Elizabeth Wunderlich Annegers. On August 21, 1977, he married Sharon Schroeder in Stronghurst.Don was a lifelong farmer in the Stronghurst area. He was past president of the Stronghurst Community Corporation and the Henderson County Farm Bureau. He had served on the board of directors of the Farm Service Corporation and was a board member of the Stronghurst United Presbyterian Church.Survivors include his wife, one brother- Ronald Annegers of Normal, Illinois and three sisters- Edith Henson of Burlington, Iowa, Alice Pendleton of Stronghurst, and Marjorie Sullivan of Quincy, Illinois.A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday June 4, 2011 in the Stronghurst United Presbyterian Church. No visitation is planned. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers,memorials have been established for the Stronghurst Ambulance Service and Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab.
