Dolores Dobbin Ewing

Dolores Dobbin Ewing, age 93 of Stronghurst, Illinois, died at 2:30 a.m. Friday January 23, 2015 at Oakwood Estates Assisted Living Center in Stronghurst. She was born December 13, 1921 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of David C. and Violette Pendry Dobbin. On February 21, 1959, she married Walter E. Ewing in Stronghurst.

Mrs. Ewing received a Bachelors degree in education from Florida State University, and a Masters degree in education from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. She then taught school for forty three years in Florida and Illinois, and twenty three years in Colorado. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the Stronghurst United Methodist Church.

She is survived by cousins.

The funeral service for Mrs. Ewing will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday January 26, 2015 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst with Pastor Karna Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Stronghurst Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Banks & Beals.
