Donald John "D.J." Bothwell Jr., age 33 of Savannah, Georgia, passed away November 27, 2018 at his home. He was born September 19, 1985 in Aledo, Illinois, the son of Donald and Christine Miller Bothwell.

D.J. was a 2004 graduate of Union High School in Biggsville, Illinois. He was employed as a meat cutter for Sam's Club for thirteen years, and was currently employed at Food Lion in Savannah where he was in training to be Assistant Manager. He enjoyed, and was accomplished at, powerbocking, the use of special spring stilts that allow the user to run, jump and perform various acrobatics. In 2011, a photograph of him powerbocking was featured on the cover of " The South Magazine". He enjoyed his friends, being outdoors, and loved the Georgia climate.

Survivors include his mother, Christine Bothwell of Keithsburg, IL, one sister, Marianne (Jesse) Molyneux of Oquawka, IL, one brother, Christopher Bothwell of Oquawka, and six nieces and nephews, Jesse, Kaden, Emma, Kinley, Liam, and Adalyn. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday December 9, 2018 at Mama's Place Banquet Hall, 1002 North 7 ^th Street, Oquawka, Illinois, with Pastor Chuck Reynolds officiating. Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Stronghurst is assisting the family.
