Diane L. Zimmerman, 61, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Sunday, August, 4, 2024 at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois surrounded by those she loved and cherished.

She was born August 12, 1962 in Canton, Illinois to loving parents, Jack and Linda Lafary. She gained a wonderful adoptive father, Don Raymond, along with a loving stepmother, Carolyn Raymond.

Diane graduated from Macomb High School in 1980 and married Jay Zimmerman in March 1984. They went on to have two beautiful children, Justin and Kayla Zimmerman along with becoming honorary parents to many of the surrounding kiddos.

Diane was a woman of many talents, working at several nursing homes, the Vista Cookie factory, local LaHarpe stores and home care before retiring in 2010,  making many friends and memories at those jobs. She was also a volunteer EMT for the LaHarpe area as well as being a Cub Scout leader for the local scouts. After retiring, Diane dedicated her time to being an amazing grammy for her two grandsons.

Diane was very skilled with crafting. Her "magic fingers" could crochet anything a person could imagine. She loved quilting, always making time to get together with her cousins for quilting parties. She shared her love of crafting with many of her friends and family, taking the time to make sure the joy and experience will continue to be passed down to future generations.

Diane was a fiery and passionate person. She loved her family more than life itself and would do anything and everything she could for those she loved. She will be missed by many.

Diane was preceded in death by her daughter, Kayla Zimmerman, her step-mother, Carolyn Raymond and her paternal and maternal grandparents.

She is survived by her husband, Jay Zimmerman of LaHarpe, her son, Justin (Tanya) Zimmerman also of LaHarpe, two grandsons, Tyrion and Ronin Zimmerman,  her parents, Jack and Linda Lafary of Macomb, her adoptive father, Don Raymond of Macomb, her brothers, Gary Raymond of Macomb, Chad (Roberta) Raymond of Plymouth, Illinois and JR Lafary, her sisters, Lisa (Jerry) Butcher of Vermont, Illinois and Denise (Mark) Brown of Canton, Illinois as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and honorary kids and grandkids.

Friends may call after 3:00p.m. Friday at the LaHarpe Christian Church where the family will meet with friends on Friday, August 9, 2024 form 5:00 until 7:00p.m.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 10th at 10:00a.m. at the Christian Church with Nate McCarter officiating. Burial will follow in the Spangler Cemetery near Fountain Green, Illinois. A memorial fund has been established for the Hancock County HUGS and Blessing Hospice.
