Dennis Eugene Oaks, of Biggsville, Illinois, passed away on March 13, 2013 at his home. Dennis was born on March 25, 1963 in Monmouth, IL. He is the son of Les Oaks and Bonnie (Fassett) Oaks.

He was raised in Biggsville and graduated from Union High School in 1981. He also attended college at Southeastern Community College in Burlington, IA. Dennis had various jobs over the years including farming and working for several utility companies. He enjoyed time spent farming with his Dad and Grandpa, and was proud of his registered Angus cattle. Dennis enjoyed cooking, vegetable gardening, and being outdoors. He spent a lot of time with his faithful dog, and they shared many adventures together.

Dennis is survived by his mother, Bonnie Oaks of Carman; sister and family, Brenda, Greg, Nicholas, & Barbara Close of Reynolds; Grandmother, Muriel Oaks of Biggsville; Aunts, Kay Oaks & April (Bill) Dowell of Monmouth; and Uncles, Earl (Sue) Oaks of Morton & Warren Fassett of Kirkwood. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

A graveside service, in the Biggsville Cemetery, will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Biggsville United Methodist Church or the Biggsville Cemetery. Banks & Beals Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements
