Dennis W. Ferrill, 60, of Dallas City, Illinois passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 at 1:00 AM at his home. He was born December 14, 1951 in LaHarpe, Illinois, the son of Berny W. and Shirley Arnold Ferrill. On December 31, 1971 he married Debra Lynn McVey in Dallas City.

Dennis was a 1970 graduate of the Dallas City High School. He had worked as a welder for the JI Case Co. in Burlington, Iowa for 31 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the UAW Local 807. He was an avid outdoorsman, and belonged to the Ducks Unlimited, Riverview Sportsmens Club, N.R.A. and the Ideal Hunting Club. He was also a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dallas City and a former member of the Dallas City Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Debra, 2 daughters, Heather Ann (Marc) Buhmeyer of Burlington, IA and Heidi Jo (Bernie) Schneider of Fort Madison, IA, 1 son, Jared Anthony Ferrill of Dallas City, 8 grandchildren, his mother, Shirley Ferrill a resident of Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab Center in Stronghurst, IL and 1 sister, Ann Ferden of Ovid, MI. He was preceded in death by his father.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dallas City with Father Tony Trosley officiating. Burial will be in the Harris Cemetery near Dallas City. Friends may call after 3:30 PM Wednesday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday. A memorial fund has been established for the Riverview Sportsmens Club or the Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab of Stronghurst, IL.
