Denette Marie McCombs, 66, of LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025 at her home.

She was born February 23, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Dennis and Donna (Spevak) Rudofski. Denette was first married to Terry Forquer. They later divorced, She married Jimmy C. Cecil on February 24, 1989 in LaHarpe. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2000. In October 2002 she married Wendell McCombs. He survives.

Denette grew up in Chicago and graduated from Eisenhower High School. She later attended Carl Sandburg College in Carthage, Illinois. She worked as a nurses aide and at the former Gene & Bev's Grocery Store in LaHarpe. She and Wendell pastored for Jail Ministry for Jesus in Illinois, Iowa and Missouri. She was a member of the former Abundant Life Church in LaHarpe and currently attended the Faith Assembly of God Church in Hamilton, Illinois.

She enjoyed helping others, baking, crossword puzzles, crocheting and most of all, spending time with family.

Surviving are her husband, Wendell, her father, Dennis Rudofski, her children, Nikki (Chris) Hudson, DJ (Destiny) Cecil, Jesse Forquer and Tara Forquer, eight grandchildren and three sisters, Deborah Beekman Rudofski, Donna Rudofski and Dawn (Craig) Meyer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy, mother: Donna; one sister: Doris Spilker and one brother: Drew Rudofski.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the Faith Assembly of God Church in Hamilton, Illinois, with Pastor Mike Floyd officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Following the luncheon burial will be held at 4:00 p.m. at LaHarpe Cemetery.
