Obituary

Dee A. Ommen, 46,of Dallas City, IL passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 near Dallas City.

She was born August 24, 1970 in Cedar Rapids, IA. She grew up in Toddville, IA and graduated from Alburnett High School in 1988. She graduated from Hamilton Business College in 1990. She worked at Yellowbook in Cedar Rapids for many years and later for Griffin Muffler in Fort Madison, IA. On September 14, 2002 she married Scott Omen. They later divorced.

She enjoyed traveling, concerts, her flower garden, boating with Mike and most of all, spending time with her beloved cats.

Dee is survived by her significant other, Mike Dean of Dallas City, 1 sister, Charlene (Ed) Allaire of Toddville, IA, 2 nieces, Catherine Young of Cedar Rapids and Megan Young of Toddville, 1 great-nephew, Zane Young also of Toddville, her uncle and aunt, Neville and Helen Barnard of Vinton, IA, her cousin, Ray Herbert (Mary Ann) Barnhard of Vinton, IA and her 5 beloved cats, Reeses, Maddie, Comet, Wrigley and Mr. Man.

She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents Ray and Neva Barnard and her cat, Cozy.

Dees family will meet with friends Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Murdoch Funeral Home in Marion, IA where a memorial service will be held at 11:00AM Friday, Feb 10th. A graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Mike Dean c/o Dallas City Banking Center, PO Box 509, Dallas City, IL 62330 (to care for her cats).
