Obituary

Deanna Jane (Bowen) Klossing, 81, of Farmington, New Hampshire passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

Born April 7, 1944 in LaHarpe, Illinois to Roy Junior Bowen and Louella Mae (Link) Bowen.

Deanna attended LaHarpe Schools and graduated from LaHarpe High School Class of 1962. Growing up she was a member of The LaHarpe Christian Church, Girl Scout Troop 57, and a member of the local 4H Club. She went to Western Illinois University and graduated with a Teaching Degree in Music Education. She was also a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha . She taught music at LaHarpe schools before moving to Kentucky, for a short time, then on to Ohio. She taught music in the Sheffield Lake City schools until she retired in 2000. She was a member of the Westlake Church of Christ for 25 years and was the pianist/organist.

Deanna moved to Farmington, New Hampshire upon her retirement to be closer to her daughter Valerie (Klossing) Blake and her husband M. Scott Blake, her grandchildren Ashley (Blake) Parsons and Trevor and Timothy Blake and his fiance Nicolette Beaulieu, her brother Larry Bowen and his children and their families.

She was a member at Community Baptist Church in Rochester, New Hampshire where she was the pianist/organist.

Deanna loved to share her talent and gave piano lessons to many throughout her life.

She has so many close and wonderful friends from church, school, and neighbors from everywhere she has lived and traveled to. Her Illinois family were very important to her and her love for them filled her heart, no matter how many miles separated them.

She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026 at the LaHarpe Cemetery with Pastor Nate McCarter officiating.
